Daryna Batechko Wins the Filfoie Prize 2024

We are proud to announce that Daryna Batechko, a second-year PhD student in the Panasyuk Lab, has been awarded the prestigious Filfoie - Filière de Santé des Maladies Rares du Foie Prize for her MSc research on Biliary Atresia, a rare pediatric hepato-biliary disease and the leading cause of liver transplantation.

Her cutting-edge work, presented at the Journées Annuelles Maladies Rares du Foie 2024 on December 12, was made possible by a collaboration between the Panasyuk Lab (INEM) and the Sampaziotis Lab (University of Cambridge). Using patient-derived biliary cell organoid models, Daryna’s research offers exciting new insights into this complex condition.

Join us in congratulating Daryna for her outstanding achievement and for advancing research in rare liver diseases!
