Peter van Endert embarked on his journey in immunology in 1986, at the German Cancer Research Centre, focusing on anti-idiotype therapy for Non-Hodgkin lymphoma. His passion for immunology led him to a post-doctoral position at Stanford University, where he delved into MHC class I antigen processing.
In 1993, Dr. van Endert continued his research journey at the Necker campus in Paris, where he expanded his expertise in antigen processing and developed a keen interest in cellular responses related to type 1 diabetes.
His dedication and contributions led to his appointment as an INSERM staff scientist in 1998, and he subsequently took on the role of director for INSERM U580, later transitioning to INSERM U1013 in 2006. In 2014, he joined INEM as the director of the immunology infectiology hematology department.
Peter van Endert's commitment to education is exemplified by his appointment as a professor of immunology at Paris Descartes University in 2007. He also has played a pivotal role in heading the HLA typing laboratory at the Necker hospital since that year. With 178  publications listed on PubMed and an h-factor of 67. Peter van Endert's impact on the field of immunology is substantial and continues to inspire new discoveries.
