Isabelle Sermet-Gaudelus, MD, PhD, is a Professor of Pediatrics and serves as the head of the Pediatric Cystic Fibrosis Center at Hôpital Necker-Enfants Malades, recognized as one of the largest centers of its kind in Europe. She currently directs the Protein misfolding in respiratory epithelial diseases team, focusing on epithelial channelopathies, Cystic Fibrosis, and related diseases. Her work is at the forefront of translational research, employing a rigorous approach to phenotype-genotype studies in Cystic Fibrosis. This involves utilizing a variety of epithelial electrophysiological measurements and biochemical tests, both in vivo and with tissues derived from patients. Her basic research endeavors are dedicated to understanding the impact of selected interacting proteins on CFTR function and dysfunction, with the ultimate goal of identifying partner proteins as novel therapeutic targets.
