Fascinated by cell biology since high school, Juliane completed her Bachelor in Cellular Biology at Aix-Marseille University (Marseille, France) in 2018 and then came to Paris to do a Master of Cellular and Molecular Biology at Sorbonne Université. During her Masters, Juliane joined Chiara Zurzolo’s lab at Institut Pasteur (Paris, France) to work on Tau fibrillation and autophagy dysfunction in the context of neurodegenerative diseases. This work brought her high interest in autophagy processes, therefore she decided to pursue her studies in this field. In October 2020, Juliane joined Etienne Morel’s lab at INEM as PhD student to work the implication of ER-associated contact sites for autophagy regulation in normal and cancerous conditions.
