Postdoctoral fellow in Autophagy, Cell Biology and Renal Physiology - Terzi Lab
Institut Necker Enfants Malades (INEM) is a biomedical research center located on the Hôpital Necker-Enfants Malades campus. It benefits from numerous state-of-the-art core facilities. The Campus has a long-standing reputation for scientific excellence and key pioneering medical contributions (transplantation, biotherapy, gene therapy). It provides a vibrant environment for basic research and translational innovation.
The host laboratory
The host team - Chronic Kidney Disease: mechanisms and therapeutics (Fabiola Terzi) is dedicated to understanding and addressing the complexities of CKD. We aim to uncover the molecular mechanisms driving CKD progression, with a primary focus on developing novel therapies and identifying biomarkers to enhance patient care.
The project
The team is currently interested in the mechanisms by which autophagy integrates fluid shear stress in kidney epithelial cells (for example of our recent publication on the subject see: Orhon et al 2016 Nat Cell Biol 18, 657-67; Miceli C et al, Nat Cell Biol., 2020, 22:1091-1102, Claude-Taupin A, et al. Nat Commun. 2023, 2023 Dec 5;14(1):8056).
To carry out this project, biochemical, cellular and microfluidic approaches will be implemented in the laboratory as well as in vivo animal (mouse and zebrafish) models and human tissue samples in collaboration with the Necker Hospital.
In this context, the team is seeking a talented post-doctoral scientist to work on the role of autophagy in kidney epithelial cell homeostasis, under the supervision of Nicolas Dupont.
Your profile
We are seeking a highly motivated and creative candidates (m/f) with a strong drive for independent research.
Candidates with a Ph.D in molecular and cellular biology or in physiology obtained during the past four years and with experience in the fields of autophagy, cell signaling, kidney physiology, zebrafish model (not mandatory) are encouraged to apply.
The two-year position is open. Salary will be according to experience following INSERM regulation.
How to apply
