Celebrating 10 Years of INEM: Highlights from the 10-Year Anniversary Symposium

On November 21-22, the Institut Necker Enfants Malades (INEM) celebrated a decade of research excellence with its 10-Year Birthday Symposium: Molecular and Cellular Metabolism in Health and Disease. This milestone event brought together researchers, young scientists, and collaborators to share advances, foster discussions, and highlight the importance of metabolism research.

KEYNOTE LECTURES

The symposium featured inspiring keynote lectures from three distinguished speakers:

  • Bana Jabri (University of Chicago / Institut Imagine)
  • Kivanc Birsoy (The Rockefeller University)
  • Yasmine Belkaid (Institut Pasteur)

Their talks provided deep insights into groundbreaking research at the forefront of immunology and metabolism.

THEMATIC SESSIONS

The program included five thematic sessions, showcasing research from distinguished speakers:

Neuro-metabolism
  • Franck Oury (Institut Necker Enfants Malades)
  • Clémence Blouet (University of Cambridge)
  • Paolo Giacobini (Lille Neuroscience & Cognition Center)
Metabolism-host interactions
  • Nathalie Delzenne (Université Catholique de Louvain)
  • Eran Segal (Weizmann Institute of Science)
  • Pamela Schnupf (Institut Necker Enfants Malades)
Cellular trafficking and metabolic signature
  • Volker Haucke (Leibniz FMP)
  • Ganna Panasyuk (Institut Necker Enfants Malades)
  • Karen Vousden (The Francis Crick Institute)
Adipose tissue metabolism
  • Mario Pende (Institut Necker Enfants Malades)
  • Mikael Rydén (Karolinska Institutet)
  • Christian Wolfrum (ETH Zurich)
Immuno-metabolism
  • Florent Ginhoux (Institut Gustave Roussy)
  • David Sancho (Spanish National Center for cardiovascular research)
  • Simon Fillatreau (Institut Necker Enfants Malades)

FLASH TALKS

A highlight of the event were the Flash Talks sessions, where young researchers presented their projects in dynamic, five-minute presentations. These talks showcased the creativity and passion driving the next generation of metabolic research.

A CELEBRATION OF SCIENCE

This symposium was a true celebration of INEM’s journey over the past decade. It reflected on the institute's achievements and sparked new collaborations for advancing the field of metabolism in health and disease.

THANK YOU

We extend our deepest gratitude to all the speakers, attendees, and volunteers who made this event possible. Your contributions ensured the success of this milestone celebration.

As we embark on the next decade, INEM remains committed to pushing the boundaries of metabolic research and improving human health.
